Kevin O’Leary has been appointed Vice President of Business Development & Marketing at Mystic Seaport. This newly created position reports to the Senior Vice President of Curatorial Affairs and provides direction and oversight to the Museum’s Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Communications, and Digital Content teams in support of the institution’s combined revenue goals. Prior to joining the Museum, O’Leary was the Director of Business Development for Guru Media Solutions in California and Vermont. He lives in Middletown, R.I. Stonington Harbor Yacht Club has been named a Boaters’ Choice Award Winner by Marinas.com for the fourth consecutive year. The 2021 recipients list includes a diverse range of marine businesses, from private yacht clubs to public service yards, and locations from the west coast to Marinas.com’s hometown of Newport, Rhode Island. Stonington Harbor Yacht Club offers dock space to visiting boaters, May-October on their 240-foot floating dock just inside the breakwater on the starboard side of the harbor. The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation has awarded $319,864 in funding to 37 organizations in Rhode Island and Connecticut. This round of charitable giving brings total grants awarded to $1,114,764 for 2021, the largest annual giving amount in bank history, and the second year in a row surpassing the million-dollar milestone.

The recipients included: Madonna Place, Norwich, $5,000; Martin House, Inc., Norwich, $1,500; Thames River Community Service, Inc., $4,000; Ledyard Food Pantry; Pomfret Food Pantry; Project Pin (People in Need) Food Pantry (Moosup); Friends of Assissi Food Pantry, Danielson; Interfaith Human Services of Putnam; St. Vincent de Paul Place, Norwich; St. Mary’s Food Pantry, Griswold. The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation has awarded $4,750 in grants to four organizations dedicated to supporting arts and culture, as well as youth services. The grants were announced Jewett City Savings Bank President and CEO Michael Alberts. A $1,500 grant was provided to the Trustees of Roseland Park; the Preston Historical Society, Inc. was awarded a $1,250 grant; Opera New England of Northeastern Connecticut and Northeast Opportunities for Wellness, Inc., received $1,000 each.
