U.S. stocks fell on Monday as investors assessed the possibility of war between Russia and Ukraine and the prospect of interest-rate increases by the Federal Reserve.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 172 points, or 0.5%, as of the 4 p.m. close of trading in New York. The S&P 500 declined 0.4%, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite was about flat, down less than 1 point.
