The Mold Technologies Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) is currently seeking nominees for the Mold Maker and Mold Designer of the Year for 2022. The awards return after a 2-year COVID-induced pause and will be presented during the inaugural PTXPO (March 29–31, 2022; Donald E. Stephens Convention Center; Rosemont, Ill.) PTXPO is being organized by Gardner Business Media, publisher of Plastics Technology magazine.
SPE notes that award nominees do not need not be active society members but they are required to have “made a lasting contribution to the industry or the SPE; demonstrated strong technical expertise; and have a reputation for conducting business in a fair and honest manner.”
In 2019, the last time the awards were issued, Brenda Clark of Hasco America was recognized as the Mold Designer of the Year, while Francine Petrucci of B A Die Mold garnered the Mold Maker of the Year award. Other former recipients include Glenn Beall, Ivar T. Quarnstrom, Glenn Starkey and Norbert Stengel.
Nominations must be submitted before the end of business on Feb. 15, 2022 and must include: the name, address, e-mail and telephone number of the nominee; the person making the nomination; and a 1-2 page business biography highlighting the individual’s contributions. This information can be sent to Scott Peters, chair elect of the division, at Scott.Peters@MoldedMarketing.com.
SPE’s Mold Division will once again name a Mold Designer and Mold Maker of the year, accepting nominations until Feb. 22 with winners to be named at PTXPO in March.
