East Coasters would prefer romance over football, given the choice.
That’s according to a survey from Stop & Shop that takes note of preferences in a year when the Super Bowl falls just one day with Valentines Day. The findings show that 58 percent of respondents would prefer a Valentine’s Day date versus the 42 percent who say they’d prefer watching the big game with friends.
Respondents said they’d rather spend money on a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner (61 percent) than a killer game day spread (39 percent).
And 51 percent said they will be staying home this Valentine’s Day, while 22 percent said they would go out. Meanwhile, 27 percent are still unsure of their plans.
Released Tuesday, the survey included the the sentiments of 250 people – men and women – polled in five states between Jan. 26 and Jan. 28 for this report.
