OSCODA — For those who have a family history of cardiovascular problems or osteoporosis, they can attend the Oscoda United Methodist Church (UMC) Friday, March 18.
There will be a Life line Screening clinic that day, which looks for early cardiovascular risks via ultrasound.
The main tests screen the carotid artery for plaque, the heart for atrial fibrillation, the abdomen for aortic aneurysms, the lower extremities for generic risks and the bones foe osteoporosis.
This whole package deals runs for $139.
The screenings are put on by Life Line Screening, a private company whose mission is “Awareness and early detection of disease.”
They have several programs geared toward prevention including: health screening and early detection; healthy living and diet and nutrition.
“It’s a low price for the extent of screenings that they’re doing,” said Pastor Pam Harkema of the Oscoda UMC. “The Methodist Church supports everything that’s about caring for body and spirit.”
Those interested in signing up for these screenings can call 1-888-653-6450 or sign up at https://llsa.social/HSC.
